Sierra Roots is entering a new chapter — but our commitment to Nevada County’s unhoused community remains as strong as ever.
Over the past year, our organization has experienced a number of changes. We have been strengthening our Board, adjusting to leadership and staffing transitions, and preparing for the work ahead. Through it all, Sierra Roots has continued doing what it has always done best: bringing people together and responding to the practical needs of our neighbors.
Our Thursday Community Lunch continues every week, providing not only a hot meal but also a welcoming place for people to gather, connect, and build relationships. During dangerous winter weather, our Emergency Weather Shelter provides a safe, warm place to sleep, meals, basic necessities, and compassionate support.
We are a small organization, and this work is possible because of an extraordinary network of volunteers, donors, community partners, and neighbors who continue to show up for one another.
